Simply Fruit Salad

Simply Fruit Salad

Tip:  I wouldn’t have even thought about putting this under recipes, but I made this fruit salad for Thanksgiving and our friends Karla and Faith joined us.  They were just raving about the fruit salad.  Karla asked me, “What’s in the fruit salad?”  I answered jokingly, “Fruit.”  Then I thought for a moment…oh, I squeezed the juice of one lime over it and sprinkled one heaping tablespoon of sugar over the top, and stirred.  The lime juice preserves the freshness of the fruit, and when mixed with the sugar it creates a light glaze of citrusy goodness.  The great thing about this glaze is that it does not overpower the taste of the actual cut-up fruit.  You can use a lime, lemon or orange – whichever your taste preference is.  My choice usually depends on what I have available in the refrigerator.  In this particular fruit salad I used, strawberries, kiwi, black grapes, blueberries and pineapple.  But, you can use whatever fruit you want.  Try this tip – it is simply delicious!
